Fad diets

Do Fad Diets work?
extreme dieting has become a immensly popular fashion trend. however do these fad diets work? According to people who have tested these methods the effects of losing weight do not last. " the only problem with fad diets, though, is that I can never keep them up. Once i stop, the weight always comes back,in fact even faster!"says Nicole(a girl who likes to test diets) Examples: Atkins,Prikin, sugar busters.
the one thing in common is that these diets do not work in the long run, it comes and goes. the extreme dieting may make you lose weight but it inevitably comes back.these diets make bodies weak and are very unhealthy. Esperts agree that girls are depriving themselves of the proper nutrition necessary for physical and mental development. I mean we are all still growing, people if you want to be tall you have to eat enough!
early adolescence(youth age) is one of the best times to build body mass, lack of calcium(diets that cut dairy) can lead to oesteoporosis- a condition in which bones become fragile-later in life.

Fad diets aren't sustainable-can you imagine just eating grapefruit for the rest of your life?Just like what Mr johari(our bio teacher who is grading this) said, every living thing needs the proper amount of nutrition and a balanced diet to, well, survive.
for example, Atkins urges followers to cut carbohydrates. High fat and high protein foods are encouraged instead.the follower's body might undergo ketosis( when the body burns fat for fuel, causing it to produce toxic acids called ketones). while the weight lost can be exiting, the other side effects of ketosis- headaches, constipation, dizziness and badbreath-usually aren't as welcomed.
Starvation or crazy supplements aren't a smart way to lose weight. people should regularly exercise, withdraw from trans fat foods and eat wisely.
